Summer is soon coming to an end, and most of us won’t have had the chance to enjoy a break away, due this pandemic.
When will it end? That’s a million dollar question that nobody can answer! One thing is certain though. If we all continue to adhere to the “rules”, it could be sooner, rather than later.
We’ve seen that our neighbours had to “lock down” again, because people refused to comply with simple safety advice. Maybe a vaccine will be formulated in the near future,…I hope so.
But in any case, mutual care and consideration will always be the key.
I will have had a site meeting with County Officers to seek out a solution to the Mangrove Road saga.
There’s been a lot of work carried out in our lanes, and there is an ongoing programme to repair and dress others. We’ve got many miles of lanes to look after, and it takes time and funds to maintain them. They are getting better at last, and soon we will have a super network of lanes for our Fly-tippers to access!
Thanks to our local farmers and sharp-eyed residents, we can get the messes cleared up quickly, and we must thank the farmers for moving lots onto their land and disposing of it for us.
Enforcement Officers continue to search for evidence to prosecute the criminals who cause the mess and expense.
The anti-social and criminal drugs activities have become more prevalent in our villages, and we are asking our Police to raise their profile, and remove offenders from our communities. Watch this space!
Our pubs and clubs are now open, and lots of work has been carried out during our “lock down”. Get along to them, enjoy the new facilities, and support our local economy.
Please continue to stay safe,…and keep a smile on your faces!
David , Faye and Claire.
