The Hitchin Conservative Association exists to promote the aims and values of the Conservative Party in the constituency, to provide an effective campaigning organisation, to secure the return of Conservative candidates at elections and to raise the necessary funds to achieve these objectives. We also have a lot of social events, so come along and join in the fun.
The minimum subscription is £39.00 and membership of the Association entitles you to a vote in the selection of your local candidates; a vote in the election of Association Officers; one member, one vote in the election of the Party Leader; and the opportunity to attend Party Conference.
Our Association is keen to welcome members, whether they wish to stand for election as local councillors, become active in campaigning or simply offer us their support. Other organisations under our umbrella include:
Conservative Policy Forum. We host a regular Conservative Policy Forum alongside the Stevenage Conservative Association. This has regular meetings on a range of different topics and provides members with an opportunity to influence party policy. To find out when our next Policy Forum is, please visit www.hitchinandharpendenconservatives.co.uk/policy.
The 250 Club. The payment of the annual subscription of £75.00 enters your name in weekly draws and twice a year a Grand Draw is held, with a free party amid lovely surroundings, with a top prize of £1,000. This Club offers you attractive prizes, two very enjoyable social events and helps the Association financially.
Young Conservatives. There is an active Young Conservatives group in Hitchin and Harpenden catering for the needs of our younger members. You can find out more about them on social media at @HitchHarpYC.
For details of membership and these special interest groups, please contact Charles Laing on [email protected].
You can also keep up to date with the Association on Facebook and Twitter at @HitchHarpCA.
